Privacy Policy
Effective October 3, 2026. We collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
This policy explains how Hantis USA, LLC ("Hantis", "we", "us") handles personal information when you visit hantis.net, use the Hantis for P.E. app, download our free guides, join our email list, contact us, or buy our digital products.
The short version
- You can browse the site and download the free Rulebook and Quick Start without giving us any personal information.
- We collect your email address only if you give it to us: to join the email list, contact us, or buy something.
- Payments are handled by our checkout partners (Lemon Squeezy, Stripe or Gumroad). We never see or store your card number.
- We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
- Our products for teachers don't require any information about students.
- The Hantis for P.E. app collects no personal information: no accounts, analytics, ads or tracking. What you enter in it stays on your device.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Email list: your email address, if you sign up for updates.
- Messages: your name, email address and anything you include when you email us or send a request through a form on the site, for example a school purchase order with billing contact details, or the details of an event you'd like us to visit. If you add an image to a custom decal request, we store it so we can see it (see Retention below).
- Purchases: when you buy, our checkout partner collects your name, email address, billing country and postal code, and payment details. They share order details with us (your name, email address, what you bought, the price and the date) so we can deliver the product and support you. Card numbers stay with the checkout partner.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information for security and reliability: IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time. We don't use it to identify individual visitors.
- Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited, how people arrive, which guides are downloaded and when checkout is opened. Google Analytics collects information such as your approximate location (country and city), device and browser type, and the pages you view, using cookies and similar identifiers. It does not give us your name or email address, and we don't combine it with other information about you. We keep analytics data for 14 months. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.
How we use it
- To deliver the products you buy and send receipts and download links.
- To answer your messages and process school purchase orders and invoices.
- To send email updates you asked for (new videos, rule clarifications, tournament news). Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
If you're in the EU or UK, our legal bases are: performing our contract with you (purchases), your consent (email list), and our legitimate interests (security and answering messages), plus legal obligations (tax records).
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with services that help us run Hantis, and only as much as they need:
| Service | What for |
|---|---|
| Lemon Squeezy | Checkout, payment, file delivery and sales tax (merchant of record) |
| Stripe | Payments, invoices for schools and payouts |
| Gumroad | Backup checkout and file delivery (merchant of record) |
| Web3Forms | Delivering messages you send through forms on the site to our inbox |
| Our email provider | Sending the email updates you signed up for |
| Our web host (Cloudflare) | Hosting hantis.net, its server logs and images you upload with a custom decal request |
| Google Analytics | Measuring how the site is used (see Analytics above) |
| YouTube (Google) | Playing videos, only after you press play |
Merchant-of-record partners (Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad) sell the product to you on our behalf, so their own privacy policies also apply to your purchase. We may also disclose information if required by law, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
Cookies
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics sets cookies (named
_gaand_ga_…) to count visits and tell new visitors from returning ones. Visitors in Europe are asked first, and Google Analytics only loads after they press Accept. Anyone can change their choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or see the Analytics section above for other ways to opt out. - Videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and don't load until you press play. After that, YouTube may set its own cookies.
- When you open checkout, the checkout partner may set cookies needed for payment and fraud prevention.
The Hantis for P.E. app
The Hantis for P.E. app for iPhone, iPad and Android doesn't collect, use or share any personal information. It has no accounts or sign-in, and no analytics, advertising or tracking. The rules, lesson and videos are built into the app and work without an internet connection.
- Saved on your device: class lists, scores, tournaments and settings you enter are stored only on your device (and in your device's own backups, if you use them). They're never sent to us or anyone else. Deleting the app removes them all.
- Student names: names a teacher types in to make random courts, teams or brackets stay on the teacher's device. We never receive them.
- No permissions: the app doesn't ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.
- Links: a few links open hantis.net, YouTube or our free PDFs in your browser. This policy covers hantis.net; Google's privacy policy covers YouTube.
- Clipboard: the app copies a team list to your clipboard only when you tap Copy.
Students and children
- hantis.net is intended for adults, including teachers, coaches, parents and organizers. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
- The P.E. Lesson Plans are printable resources. Using them doesn't require sharing any student information with us, and we never ask for it.
- The Hantis for P.E. app doesn't collect information from anyone, including students. Student names a teacher types into the app stay on the teacher's device (see The Hantis for P.E. app).
Your rights and choices
- Access, correct or delete: email us and we'll send you a copy of your information, correct it or delete it, unless we must keep it for legal reasons such as tax records.
- Unsubscribe: use the link at the bottom of any email, or email us.
- California residents: you have the right to know, delete and correct personal information and not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- EU and UK residents: you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, usually by replying from the email address we have on file.
Retention and security
- Order records: kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, generally up to 7 years.
- Email list: kept until you unsubscribe.
- Messages: kept as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
- Uploaded images: an image you add to a custom decal request is reachable only through a private link sent to us, and it's deleted automatically after 90 days.
- Security: we use reputable providers with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and limit access to the people who run Hantis. No method is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
- International transfers: our providers may process information in the United States and other countries, with appropriate safeguards where required.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also notify people on our email list.
